In order to become an SWS Associate, members must complete a minimum of 5 HOURS of community service. Members are not required to volunteer at only SWS sponsored events. Proof of the community service hours you complete required! For example, this would include a signature from the director of the event or program. PREVIOUS COMMUNITY SERVICE EVENTS:
FAFSA Open Lab Day: On January 25th,SWS hosted several high school students in January from the Liberty Partnership Program with coordinator, Diane Ode. The time spent in Hughes Hall trading room was dedicated to helping local Bronx high school seniors fill out FAFSA forms online for college preparation. Diane and an aide from FAFSA committee led a ‘best tips’ presentation for the students for the first half and SWS volunteers provided individual help with the online forms for the second half. We concluded the event by providing additional websites and sources students could access for scholarship opportunity.
